I HEART RUB ONS@!!! They are my favorite embellie ever. I get mine from the local scrap store and hobby lobby. Hobby lobby always has the most awesome ones. The secret to rub ons is "brand" I'm the last to rely on brand, I'm all about seeking out a bargain but when it comes to rub ons, sometimes the cheap brands can be hard to apply. Everytime you go to place them they move on you, etc. Here are my fav brands..... and what I use them for.
Making Memories - these are great for custom titles. They come in a nice little plastic box to keep them in and they stay together with a post screw. They have all kinds of different fonts and sizes and run about $10 for a set.
Swatch book Impressions - I discovered these right before christmas and can I just say WOW! There are about 15 different booklets held together by post screws. There are 28 sheets per booklet and have everything from titles to quotes to shapes and letters. I'm not sure the brand since they have different prroduct lines for each booklet. Karen russel, creative imaginations, A.R.T. warehouse. These run about $10 as well and will last a VERY long time.
Karen Foster - This is how I got started on rub ons. She has titles, journaling ideas, cute shapes, etc. In all the different thems of life! These are $2 and are FANTASTIC. My favs are her large 10'' titles. Very nice.
I'll post some pics later of each of these along with a how to. I'm sure eveyrone has used rubons and know how but I have a few tips people probably haven't heard of.
Now, placement? That's a hard one. I seem to not have a real answer to that. I use a lot of sketches and just place the title where it says. The thing I love about rub ons is you can place them literatly ANYWHERE. On any surface, any place on your layout. I like to experiment with different textures. If you place them on something with a pattern, the rub on takes shape of that pattern. You can place them on metal, ribbon, carstock, wood, chipboard, etc.

I haven't used rub ons yet... I am of course just starting out in the scrapbook art .. so I haven't explored everything yet and it's expensive to try to buy it all .. though I have been trying! I have hobby lobby, micheals & jeffery allens here.... What are the easiest ones to use for a begginer? I have so many Ideas for how I would use rub ons,... I would love to overlap them on some of my pictuires for a more unique and custom look.... mixin & match types of letters for my titles ect... Maybe this weekend I'll get some to try out...
